I Hope There's a Girl

Trucking all around this big old world
I've met a lot of girls
And I've met some girls I know that I would marry
(...If they'd ask me!)
I can't seem to get my act together
When I meet a girl that I like
Seems I'm always at a loss
for conversation
B...B...B...B...B...But
I wish all the girls would love me
I wish all the girls would want me
I hope there's a girl
Who's nuts enough to marry me.
Even though I do get crazy
I cannot deny
I do get lonely
And I want someone to love me.
I don't want to die no bachelor
I want someone to love. 
And I want to go out big
With a dozen children!
(...And arthritis!)
She don't have to look like Venus
I don't brag about my style
'Long as she lets me wear my sneakers
When we're walking down the aisle.
She'll have such a sense of humor
She'll have a baby...

We'll make love all night
And sing all day!
(...We'll die poor!)
I'll do the cookin'
She'll do the dishes
And if that goes against her wishes
We can just leave the dishes in the sink!

Time Has Come

The time has come for parting gently.
The wine was light and sweet
and oh so mellow.
Oh but those crying eyes,
those laughing eyes and how they held me.
The wine is gone 
and all that remains is but a shadow...
The time has come
For counting memories and wishing well
Trying those pressing dreams we talked about
When no one really seemed to care but you and me.
The time has come
For pressing poems in some hidden page 
For keeping memories of gentle days
For now it's time to say goodbye
My special friend
The time has come for parting gently.
The wine was light and sweet

There's nothing to be said
it simply slipped away
The wine is gone
And we have grown our separate ways...
